Facebook messing with my pics :(

Okay I actually hated the way facebook messed with my resolution that it actually made me blog the image! I love this image of the generations of men in this family and how much at ease they seemed to have during the shoot. Okay that's it for now, I'll be honest I'm not a blogger just yet :)

2010 Cutest Kid Contest - WINNER

First I wanted to thank everyone who submitted a photo, not only was the children so stinkin cute but I couldn't help but smile at the images that you decided represented your child the best.

I'm sure most of you are glad the contest is over! No more seeing posts every 30 minutes about voting for your friends or family members kids in the contest! WOOHOO!

Miss Madison won the Grand Prize session and prints! With 146 votes!

Miss Scarlett and Mr. Quinton came in second and third with 118 and 101 votes respectively! Miss Scarlett and Mr. Quinton will both receive $50 towards their next sessions with Jenice Ray Photography! Congratulations to everyone involved! I hope it was as fun for you as it was for me!


The Jenice Ray Photography first photo contest was a success in so many ways, but most of all I hope I was successful in getting across that my business and fan page is a place for love and respect for all babies, children and God's children of every age. There was a moment of sad competitive edge that took some individuals to some other kind of competition other then good natured healthy fun. Because of that several were banned and new rules will apply in the future.

In the future I ask all contestant to ask their friends and family to play in the most fun and respectful way, if they can not, then all parties involved will be banned and the childs photo will be pulled from the contest and will not be accepted for future contests. I hope everyone understands.

On a happier note there will be another contest in December.... Dirtiest kids..... sleeping pictures.... best costumes? Not sure what the theme will be so stay tuned!

Cutest Kid Contest

Under the new facebook rules you are not allowed to post contests on your page, it must be from your blog. So once again, here is the rules and how to play. The pictures will still be put in an album on Jenice Ray Photography Facebook page, however, all updates and the winner will be announced from my blog!



Jenice Ray Photography is hosting a Cutest Kid Contest! Beginning July 12th you will be able to submit a photo of your cutest kid, and the winner will receive a free photo session with Jenice Ray Photography, as well as 1 8x10, 2 5x7's and 3 digital web images to share. Here are the details:

TO ENTER

* One entry per child (you can enter more than one child under 17 years of age just one entry per child)
* You must be the parent or legal guardian of the child you enter into the contest
* Child must be 17 years old or younger on the date of entry
* You must have permission/rights to use the photo you enter
* Photo must have been taken in the last 6 months
* Photos will be accepted from July 12th, 2010 until 11:59pm July 16th, 2010 via e-mail
* Only photos e-mailed to info@jeniceray.com with the Subject line JRP CONTEST during the previosuly mentioned time will be accepted
* Include your child's name and age in the e-mail (first name and age will be posted for viewing), as well as your name and contact information
* Contest open to everyone, however the photoshoot will take place in Lodi, CA


HOW PHOTOS WILL BE JUDGED

* All entries will be uploaded into an album by Jenice Ray Photography no later than July 18th, 2010, on the facebook fan page
* To vote for a photo you MUST be a 'fan' (or under the new facebook system 'like') Jenice Ray Photography
* Click 'like' for the photo you are voting for in the album labeled 'Summer 2010 Cutest Kid Contest'
* Photo with the most 'likes' will be the winner. Comments permitted, but WILL NOT count towards the total number of votes, you can vote for more than one child.
* Voting will close July 25th, 11:59pm
* Official winner will be notified and announced on July 26th

WHAT YOU WILL WIN

* The parent or legal guardian of the child in the photo that receives the most 'likes' will receive a free photo session with Jenice Ray Photography, 1 8x10 photo, 2 5x7 photos, and 3 digital web images, watermarked and resized for viewing on the internet (facebook, blogs, email etc - not to be printed, reproduced, or altered in any way)
* Photo session must be booked within 30 days of winning, and completed before October 31, 2010
* Prize can not be altered or changed in any way, and not redeemable for cash

Hello, I want to welcome everyone to my blog. My name is Jenice Ray. I'm first and foremost a mother and wife, and love the two guys in my life.

I believe having a passion outside the home is very important. I've been doing photography since I was 13 years old and have continued to love it through the years. With the birth of my son, I've found a new love of newborn photography. I think about newborns all day, dream about new props and poses and can't sleep the night before a shoot. I’m truly blessed that I've found such a great outlet in my life!

I've created this blog to document my photography passion and business. I hope to create a place for learning and discussion with fellow photographers and to show off my work with all the little itty bitty clients I have!
